Choices, Choices, Choices!

I don’t have forever to choose my future career, but I have a few ideas in mind. It’s really hard to decide when I could be anything I wanted…

  • Ever since grade 4 my mom has always told me I am a great writer. I have published a book, but it’s not in stores. I have about 13 different notebooks with random pages of random writing that I haven’t finished. The computer downstairs in my house has been 50% filled up with 20-page pieces of writing that I haven’t finished or worked on in months. The reason for this is when I get a new idea I write it down so I don’t forget it. I want to be an author.
  • I think a lawyer would be pretty awesome to be, though a trial lawyer isn’t really my thing. I’d rather be the partnering lawyer to Sophie, who would be the trial lawyer. But a lawyer would be kind of boring. You wouldn’t really have enough freedom to do what you want to do because you’d be working all the time.

What would you want to be, and why?

Advice Needed!

Well, first, I need a little help. I’ve noticed that most of my classmates have been changing up their blogs. Well, I haven’t been at school for about a week because I was sick, (You can read about that here) and what should I do to spice up my blog a little? Or should I even change it at all? Well, I can’t decide. Please help me!

Second, what things could I do to make my blog even better? Are there any things that you suggest I do to help make a bigger audience for my blog, and what could I do to improve my posts (and pages)? Do you know any way I could make my writing stronger?

And finally, third, what things do you like about my blog? Have I written something in a post that was interesting that you’d like me to write about again? Have I done something good in a post or made a good choice in widget? Tell me! It’ll be really helpful!

Thank you to EVERYONE who comments on this because it will help me make choices for my blog and posts!

A Special Place

I looked towards the sun as I walked down the rocky road to the beach. This was no ordinary beach, though. This was my special place…

If I walked to my special place (the beach), this is what it would be like. This never really happened, but I like to think of it like it did because it sounds so real to me.

Sun shone brightly through the tree branches. Here on this simple road, you could notice many things. I realized I was almost at the beach, so I looked ahead. A silver car drove by on the road ahead of me. I stopped. There was a man and a small dog walking to the beach too. I waved and he waved back, smiling. By then I had crossed the street and had come up to the prickly entrance-way to the beach. High tide, I thought. From the entrance-way, you could see a long stretch of land sticking out from the water. That was Gooey Island, (even though it was connected to the mainland) and my brother Keenan found it first. That is the specific special place on the beach I like best though. For a beach, it was quite different. There were beautiful houses along the shore, and there was grass on most of the houses’ yards.

I could never get tired of looking at the foaming waves rolling in and out, and the small pieces of driftwood scattered along the sandy shore of Goey Island. Trees were thick along the other side of the houses, and there was just enough of a breeze to chill me a little. No clouds in the sky, just blue and sunny. I sat down on a big log, and just stared into the icy-blue ocean.
