My New Lulu!

I love lululemon, and I needed a new hoodie from there. I have two big bags, a small bag, a yellow headband, a green headband, a brown headband, a white hoodie that has yellow and white stripes on the inside and it’s reversible, and my brand new lulu! It is white and has black polka-dots on it and they get smaller as they get closer to the top of my hoodie. We walked a long, long ways down Robson Street in Vancouver just to get to Lululemon. I have ben wearing my hoodie everyday since we got it, and that was on December 27. I was very excited, and I can’t believe that I got another one!

So… What Do You Want To Read?

I’d like to give you readers a chance to comment to give me your opinions on what I should write posts about. I have written all my posts on what I wanted to have you read. Well what can I do to get you to read what you want to read? Here’s how:

  1. Comment on this post
  2. Tell me (in the comment) what you like to read about
  3. Why you like to read it
  4. Give me your suggestions about how to make my blog a little more popular

Thank you so much! I hope to write a post about what you would like to read!

My Ultimate 7

My favourite number is 7, and here’s why:

  1. My favourite grade so far was grade 3, and I was 7 at the time.
  2. I have 7 favorite singers: Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Lil’ Mama, JoJo, Taylor Swift, Dixie Chicks, and Ashley Tisdale.
  3. My favorite song is 7 Things.
  4. I have 7 Random Facts About Me on my blog. (Check a few posts down!!)
  5. It is a cool number because it is the only single digit that has 2 syllables.
  6. It is apparently very lucky.
  7. It takes 7 facts to complete this post.

Is there a lucky number you have, too?

Sing, Sing, SING!

Last year, I was in a contest called Valley Idol. It is a singing contest, like Canadian Idol or American Idol. It was a hard contest, and I had competition; a whole lot of it!

I knew four people in it. My friends Rebecca, Avery, Mukrada, and Katelyn. I knew a couple of other people, but none that I could name.

The first part was getting through the auditions. I sang I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack. It showed in the newspaper that I then had been accepted into the second round. There I sang in Comox, and there were so many people that the contestants were split into three random groups. The groups performed on different days. I sang Born to Fly by Sara Evans. It was a bit tougher because people were watching me. It wasn’t that hard, though, since I’d done performances in front of bigger crowds. Once again in the newspaper the results came out.

My favourite round was the semifinals. The semifinals were right before the finals. I sang my audition song. I was much more comfortable once I got into the song. After the performances, there were prizes for people with tickets. One ticket that we had won a CD and my mom got all confused because she thought it wasn’t the number on the ticket, and it was really funny.

I didn’t make it to the finals, but this year, I will try to push myself with my singing and aim for the finals, and maybe get onto the CD. I am trying to become a stronger and louder singer.

Is there anything I can do to improve my voice (besides taking singing lessons…)?

Our JAM!

Sam was at my house one day and she suddenly had the best idea.

“Let’s write songs!” she said. I agreed, but I had to make sure we could use my brother’s drum set. We hooked it up, and I took my dad’s (non-expensive) electric guitar and the other smaller amp. I got two sheets of paper, knowing we’d both have different ideas, and two pencils. As soon as she started messing around with the drums, I had inspiration strike me! I started writing a very slow, slow beginning to a chorus. I started to hum.

“You’ve got an idea yet?” asked Sam. I answered, “Yeah, but it’s not that good.”

“Let’s see it,” she said. I started singing it.

“Wow,” Sam said. “I can add on; this is going to be great!” She then told me to get my acoustic guitar, since the first chorus was slow, then it would get faster as it repeats after the verses. We got pretty far into the chords and beats that day, while my brother watched us.

Starstruck Songwriters

I am a very big fan of Miley Cyrus, and I know alot about her. My favourite songs by her are 7 Things, These 4 walls, Goodbye, Simple Song, and See You Again. I also like Rihanna and my favouite songs by her are Take a Bow, Disturbia, Unfaithful, Umbrella (and the remix), We Ride, Breaking Dishes, and SOS.

When I first found out about this video contest Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso are setting up, I asked my dad if I could enter right away. The contest is a video of yourself singing your favourite song. I have a strategy to impress her, and I am going to do a song I wrote. I still haven’t decided which song to do, but I might do the one me and Sam wrote, or me and Avery wrote.  My friend Emily and I write songs too. The only thing that bothers me about writing songs is that you can only put the words down, and you can’t think of a tune until you have the words memorized. Or else you forget them. It is a very long process. But at least the song is good when it’s done!

R & R

Meet my puppies… Rocky and Rosie: A.K.A double trouble!

Rocky and Rosie are my two dogs. Rocky is Keenan’s and Rosie is mine. Rosie looks like a short hair German Shepard, but she’s a whole lot more! Rocky looks like a Lab, Border Collie, and a whole lot more as well! They are brother and sister, but you wouldn’t guess it at first. Although, the only thing that would give it away that they are brother and sister is the way they act around each other. They’ll play and fight, and compete for attention, even though they don’t look the same. The only thing they have in common is their white (but usually dirty) paws.

7 Random Facts About Me!

These are the 7 random facts about me!

  1. I love guitars.
  2. I’d rather read than watch TV.
  3. I love ALL Miley Cyrus’ shoes that I’ve seen pictures of.
  4. The only french fries that I like are from White Spot.
  5. I like Cinnomon Dolce Lattes from Starbucks.
  6. I’ve had the same pair of shoes for almost 4 years.
  7. I only have 1 cousin and she goes to my school!

High Ropes

It was so high. I’d never done High Ropes before so it was pressurizing, partly because I was last. Our leader, Haeley (who was one of my Dad’s students…), hooked me up to a rope and I started climbing the tall ladder.

I made it up, and desperately tried to climb up the large staples hammered hard into the tree. There was a platform with two crossed pieces of wood. I grabbed onto one, slipped, but found myself sitting on the platform a second later. Once I put my foot down on the cable it swooped down. The cables I held onto tightly with my hands were wobbling, but the rest of me was calm, relaxed, like I’d done this a million times before.

I made it to the end, hi-fived the tree, and started backwards. I wasn’t worried, I was perfectly balanced. The backwards way was easier. It meant I was almost finished, and I was!  Once I got to the middle, I was told to sit back in my harness. I let go of the cables and was descended to the ground. That would be the most fun part about it!
