If I Could Only Bring 5 Things…

…what would you bring?

I was tagged by Abigail to write about the 5 things I would bring if I was moving all the way across the world and I could only bring 5 things. I would bring…

  1. My iPod because I got a new one on spring break! it’s purple and it’s the new nano. It’s so cool! (Yes, Michael, I’d bring the charger too; it’s two things, but they go together.)
  2. A scrap book filled with photos of my friends and memories from the place I was moving from.
  3. A Journal/diary so I can record my new life in a new place and compare it with my other journals from when I was living in the place I was moving from.
  4. Oh, and I can’t forget my songbooks! I’ll need that for writing songs when I have inspiration in my new life!
  5. Finally, a box of treasured little things to remember all my friends and family that I would be leaving behind by.

What would you bring?

I’m tagging…

A Boxing Day Surprise! Part 2

From my last post:

We went to Nanaimo and got on a long ferry to Horseshoe Bay. We arrived at out Sandman hotel. Keenan found papers in the bathroom, of all places, and turned them over…

“Thank you! Thank you so much!” I heard and wondered what he was talking about. Dad came over and told me that we were going… to… a… (wait for it, wait for it…) Canucks game!! My family loves hockey, and it was mostly Keenan’s surprise because he is the biggest Canucks fan of our family! He’s the only one who has a jersey; even my Dad doesn’t have one!

Well, the Canucks lost 2-3 vs. Edmonton Oilers. oh well. They played well and it was a good game. My first game.

Snow-Bricks

A few years ago, in the backyard of my old house, Keenan and I made snow-bricks. It was the most fun time I’d ever had with my brother playing in the snow. We found an old ‘Pampers Diaper’ container, and we packed the snow down really hard inside it. We flipped it over on a flat, snowy piece of ground that we’d chosen, not far from the edge of the house. It was a well-planned, well-prossesed  attempt to design and build our own igloo. We got very far, and it was the top part of the igloo (or the roof) that was curved in (of course) that made it so hard to complete. We didn’t finish, as you may predict, though this snowy, fun day in the snow will be a memory forever.

P.S. Will Keenan and I try this again? Definately!

Hole In The Face?!

So, skating is dangerous…

I have mentioned Kierra (my cousin) before, and this is a story about her.

Today we went skating at the ice rink. We were zooming past other people, laughing and falling. Kierra’s friend Rainne was with us, and instead of these metal wire things to hold us up (if we wanted or needed it), there were large, orange cones to steady ourselves. I used it for two laps around the rink, and gave it up. It was much more fun when you skated independently.

Well we were falling down for no reason, and when one of us would fall, someone else would. Uncle came right up, and asked me for some words of advice, after Kierra and I both sprawled on the ice. (She’d pushed me down while she tried not to fall, so it wasn’t my fault.) My words of advice to the camera were “Things to bring to the ice rink: skates, knee pads, a helmet, possibly a change of pants, and definitely NOT Kierra!” It gave me a right good reason to push her back, but did I? No.

It’s always that last run that just wipes you out, and Kierra was concentrating on skating. I don’t know how, but she tripped and fell REALLY HARD. A top tooth banged right through her mouth. Right on the side of her lips. I didn’t know she hurt herself, so I went right on skating. A staff member came over, and Kierra was crying. Uncle was there too, holding her up. I had no idea what happened, so I skated on over, too. It was somehow explained to me what happened to her, but I didn’t really make sense of it until I figured out what it looked like, and got the idea from that.

Tell me, is there anything that you can say about injuries that you’ve had? Comment at will!!
