Remember Me
Remembrance Day is all about remembering. I (along with the rest of my class) drew a picture with water colour pencil crayons. My picture is all about remembering those who fought for our freedom. I believe that Remembrance is a very important thing when it comes to war. These brave-yet very young-soldiers in WWl went to war and had no experience in battle. I know that in 1917, the legal age for enlisting was 18. Also, Canada was responsible for a new battalion capturing Vimy Ridge. The chores were horrible, like draining the trenches, and digging latrines!
There were many, many sicknesses that you could get from the trenches: trench mouth, trench foot, shell shock, lice, and many more.
So many people died, and it was all because of war. If we can stop war, make peace, and get along, we’d all be lot better off, and not as many people would die. I estimate that at least 30% of people that die now are people who die in war.
Lest we forget, and let us remember.
I hope you like my picture, and tell me what you think!

Dear Haley:
Mr Hamilton sent me an eamail about his visit to your class with a link to all of your blogs. I have only had time to read yours so far, but I plan to read many of the others as well. I am delighted to see that you are still writing “ducky” you do have a talent expressing yourself.
I loved all of your posts, especially the Halifax explosion and Remember Me. Some of your posts remind me of the journal project we did last year in class about immigration. Do you remember that?? Keep writing and say hello to my other ducklings that were in your class last year.
