Blog Action Day: Poverty and the Girl Effect
Today in class we saw 2 videos: “All I Need” and “The Girl Effect”.
It made me feel like I am lucky to have all I have, and have all I need. The two boys in the video are so different. One goes to school, one goes to work. One has many jobs, one has one job. One gets affection, one gets none. The way it was put together made it all that more interesting.
The Girl Effect video was my favourite though. This video has a very strong message. Girls can make the world better. They can make a difference. If you give girls a chance to get an education, they will make less poverty for their children, and they will support their families. If you giver her and education, let her get a job, make money, and support her family, she will make the world a better place for those in poverty.

I absolutely agree with your observations. Most of the time all it takes is to give a girl a chance and she WILL make a difference. I am thankful that you know how blessed you are. I hope you always remain this humble.

Lots of those things in the videos made me feel like I am lucky. It’s very true, though. Did you see the two videos? They’re on Huzzah.
