Star of The Week!
My brother Keenan, who is in Grade 3, just had his first star of the week. In case you don’t know, Star of the Week is when the students get a chance to talk about themselves in front of the class. He had 2 poster boards filled with pictures.
The first thing he talked about was his dog, Rocky. Rocky is a mutt! He’s all kinds of dogs! He also talked about going to the beach right down the street from our house. He talked about us being a multicultural family, and Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Great-Great Grandparents, and all about himself.
Star of the Week is a very fun thing to be! I, having done it before, hope that all his classmates know him just a little better!

Haley, this is a terrific topic for a blog post: you captured the experince so well. I feel I was watching him present. How wonderful for Kennan to have a sister like you!

Standing up in front of the class is one way to tell people about yourself, using a blog is another. So far your posts have been very interesting to read.

That post brings back memories of our gr.3 star of the week! thanks for commenting on my blog! The song was ‘I can see clearly now’! i met the governor general of Canada at the grey cup parade in ‘06. Hope that answers your question!

Hi Haley. My name is MacKenzie. I am a seventh grader at Hayes Middle School. I have a little brother too! He is in the third grade. his name is Logan. He loves being Star of the Week. they have it at his elementary school. I think it is so cool that you write your own songs!!! That is awesome!
