High Ropes
It was so high. I’d never done High Ropes before so it was pressurizing, partly because I was last. Our leader, Haeley (who was one of my Dad’s students…), hooked me up to a rope and I started climbing the tall ladder.
I made it up, and desperately tried to climb up the large staples hammered hard into the tree. There was a platform with two crossed pieces of wood. I grabbed onto one, slipped, but found myself sitting on the platform a second later. Once I put my foot down on the cable it swooped down. The cables I held onto tightly with my hands were wobbling, but the rest of me was calm, relaxed, like I’d done this a million times before.
I made it to the end, hi-fived the tree, and started backwards. I wasn’t worried, I was perfectly balanced. The backwards way was easier. It meant I was almost finished, and I was! Once I got to the middle, I was told to sit back in my harness. I let go of the cables and was descended to the ground. That would be the most fun part about it!

Wow! They weren’t joking around when they named that station. You should be very proud of yourself, Haley. You pushed yourself as far as you could and you accomplished what you set out to do. Well done!! I hope you always remember that experience and draw on the determination of that moment as you need it.

Haley, I think that it’s awsome that you tryed as hard as you could. I got the same feeling when I had finished doing my high ropes challenge. Is’nt that feeling so awsome? See ya Haley!

@ Rebecca
Yes! The feeling is a great feeling. It’s cool because you know what a great job you did, even if you didn’t think you did. Any time you try, you’ve acomplished something.
